Project of an evaporative cooling system with double circuit separated by an heat exchanger. The total cooled capacity is 3000 kW. The connected process plant is highly complex and requires strict operating conditions, such as water characteristics, steady temperature, pressure and flow. The project also took in account the performance vs cost issue by dimensioning the system based on historic weather records for the area to ensure perfect operating conditions only as needed. Because of this there are a few days per year, in July, when the towers can't cool the water at the required temperature. This was discussed and agreed with our client, allowing them to save installation costs by a fair margin for a minor, planned, issue.
The pump group use a modular design. They respect common transport dimensions so that they can easily be built inside a workshop and moved where required. The pumps are dimensioned to reach the highest possible efficiency and are equipped with inverters. They are controlled by the differential pressure of the system, to supply the required flow at any time.
The project evolved from a preliminary scheme to complete drawings based on the needs of our client. A bill of materials was also supplied to the workshop to ensure project consistency.
